Diplomatic (of foreign missions and of international organisations)

The surface of the vehicle registration number license plate is green, light reflective and with a repetitive safety mark. The edging, letters and numbers of the vehicle registration number license plate are white.

The inscriptions of the vehicle registration number license plates of this type are composed by six numbers (cars), and five numbers (motorcycles and trailers). The first two numbers indicate a code of the foreign mission conferred by the Department of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs according to the order of accreditation of the foreign mission in the Republic of Lithuania:

  • 01 – Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden;
  • 02 – Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany;
  • 03 – Embassy of the Republic of France;
  • 04 – Embassy of the Republic of Latvia;
  • 05 – Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark;
  • 06 – Office of the Embassy of Canada;
  • 07 – Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland;
  • 08 – Embassy of the Republic of Italy;
  • 09 – Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway;
  • 10 – Embassy of the Republic of Finland;
  • 11 – Nunciature of the Holy See;  
  • 12 – Embassy of the Republic of Turkey;
  • 13 – Embassy of the Czech Republic;
  • 14 – Embassy of the United States of America;
  • 15 – Embassy of the People's Republic of China;
  • 16 – Embassy of the Republic of Poland;

The following codes are conferred to the representations of international organisations:

  • 80 – Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania;
  • 81 – Representation of World Bank;
  • 82 – Representation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development;
  • 83 – World Health Organization Office in Lithuania;
  • 85 – International Organization for Migration, Vilnius office;
  • 86 – Representation of the European Commission in Lithuania
  • 88 – European Institute for Gender Equality;
  • 89 – NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence;
  • 90 – NATO Force Integration Unit in Lithuania;
  • 91 – Regional European Investment Bank Group Office.

 

The third number indicates a vehicle category (the status of the person who exercises the ownership of the vehicle):

  • 1 – representative vehicle of the head of the representation;  
  • 2 – vehicle of the representation;
  • 3 – personal vehicle of the member of the representation or of his/her family members who enjoy diplomatic privileges and immunities under the international law;
  • 4 – personal vehicle of the member of the administrative and technical personnel of the representation or of his/her family members.

The last three numbers indicate a serial number of issue of the vehicle registration number license plates. The vehicle registration number license plates of this type are available for the users since 11 October 2004.
