State enterprise REGITRA will introduce driving examination surveillance system

In order to ensure better transparency of drivers’ examination activities, the state enterprise Regitra is planning to install a centralized surveillance system in all examination centres of the enterprise this year, which will enable more efficient supervision of examination process and will provide for a possibility to make video and audio recording of driving examination into electronic media.

“Surveillance system data will help the enterprise to assess the route covered during the examination and actions of the examinee and examiner. Video records will be in particular helpful when analysing issues concerning examination assessments, when the examination result is disputed”, said Managing Director of Regitra, Mr. Dalius Prevelis.

Three video cameras are planned to be installed in every examination vehicle of the enterprise, which will observe the road in front of the car and behind it, as well as driver’s and passengers’ seats.

Examination surveillance data is expected not only to increase transparency of drivers’ examination activities but also to enable more efficient assessment of customer care skills possessed by the staff.

At present, a public tender for video surveillance system and installation of additional pedals for control signalling in the corporate vehicles has been announced by Regitra. The enterprise wants video cameras, video recording equipment and microphones to be fitted in the examination vehicles as soon as in second half of this year.
