On 30 March 2015, VĮ Regitra joined the European Union‘s (EU) network of driving licences (RESPER). The network has been designed for implementing Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council 2006/126/EC providing for an exchange of data on driving licences.
Participation in the system will increase the efficiency of information exchange with other Member States; furthermore, the system ensures that only one driving licence is issued to an individual in the European Union.
According to recent data, the United Kingdom, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Sweden and Slovakia have also joined RESPER.
