International driver testing experts visited Lithuania

On September 22-26, the Expert Advisory Group of the International Commission for Driver Testing (CIECA) visited the branches of the State Enterprise Regitra in Kaunas and Marijampolė.
The group’s Chairman Per Gunnar Veltun (Norwegian Public Roads Administration, Norway), Vice Chairman Jörg Biedinger (TÜV Nord, Germany) and members Jean Malinowski (Ministry of Ecology, France), Per Olof Nilsson (Swedish Transport Administration, Sweden), Han Rietman (CBR, The Netherlands) and Elina Uusitalo (Trafi, Finland) were acquainted with the driver testing procedure of Regitra. Deputy Director General of Regitra Saulius Šuminas is also a member of the Expert Advisory Group.
CIECA plays a key role in establishing common driving standards, cooperates with the European Commission, and makes proposals and recommendations on the implementation of initiatives of safer traffic.
Regitra joined CIECA in 2003. The members of CIECA are driver testing authorities from 36 world countries.
