State enterprise REGITRA will introduce driving examination surveillance system

In order to ensure better transparency of drivers' examination activities, the state enterprise Regitra is planning to install a centralized surveillance system in all examination centres of the enterprise this year, which will enable more efficient supervision of examination process and will provide for a possibility to make video and audio recording of driving examination into electronic media.

Germany remains the main country of export of used motor vehicles

According to the data of the State Enterprise “Regitra” last year 216 603 motor vehicles (Class M1) imported to Lithuania were registered in the country, the great majority of them (204 309, or 94%) comprised used motor vehicles earlier already registered in foreign countries.

43,329 driving licences issued to beginner drivers last year

Summarised 2011 data of State Enterprise Regitra revealed that the total number of beginner drivers was lower in Lithuania last year as compared to 2010, and women accounted for more than a half of the beginner drivers.

Today at the international exhibition “Borderless eGgovernment Services for Europeans” hosted in Poznan (Poland) the State Enterprise “Regitra” introduced the system of electronic services – the “Drivers’ Portal”.

Provision of data about vehicles – the most popular e-service offered by Regitra

Given a significant increase during this year in volume of the electronic services offered by the State Enterprise Regitra, the greatest interest was shown in the electronic service of vehicle search which enables free online access to the data on vehicles entered in the Register of Road Vehicles that is managed by Regitra.
